There is something about chai flavors that take away the earthiness taste out of kava. This kava drink recipe is served warm or cold and will be made from infused masala chai.
INGREDIENTS:
7g-10g of kava
1 tablespoon of masala chai tea
250ml of water
1 ounce of milk or Coconut milk
Sugar (to taste)
Ginger slice(rim)
Stainless mesh filter for tea
Served in a mug
DIRECTIONS:
Start by bringing 250 ml of water to around 75-85 degrees F
Add the milk and infuse the kava and masala chai tea, and ginger slice together for 4-5 minutes.
Serve filtered or unfiltered with sugar on the side
TIPS & TRICKS
You can use a water boiler pot with digital temperature control. The trick is to not overheat your ingredients since kavalactones will breakdown at higher temperatures
